CIVIS Media Prize 2024

For the 2024 competition, the CIVIS Media Foundation once again appointed two committees for each of the different award categories: a commission that shortlisted a small selection of particularly outstanding contributions and a jury that subsequently decided on the nominees and award winners. A total of 55 highly experienced experts, mainly from the media, science and culture, were involved.

This year, the members of the two committees met digitally and in the conference rooms of the Cologne “Wohngemeinschaft”, to evaluate almost 900 submissions from all EU member states and Switzerland. All selection committees and juries spent several days together, from morning to night, viewing, listening to and discussing entries. Choosing the nominees was based on strict criteria of craftsmanship and high journalistic standards.
