Immigration and dealing with the so-called refugee-influx dominate the Austrian election campaign in autumn 2017. After closure of the Balkan route, many Austrians expect new refugee movements via the Mediterranean and the Brenner. This does not happen, there is no increased influx. The commentary portrays the discomfort and fears of people in the Tyrolean border region, but also experiences of young migrants. It confronts with real facts in terms of immigration and crime. Different sensitivities, perspectives and insights become evident.
