A story of hunger, rape and death. Children and adolescents are travelling alone and risk their lives to reach England. Mostly, they hide in emergency shelters in the Calais jungle under untenable conditions: Europe’s largest slum. The aim is to survive everything necessary. Then they will try to forget what they went through. They come from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Syria. There is nearly no-one caring for them. Europe’s disgrace – Europe’s responsibility.
Excerpt from the jury’s statement
Strong, expressive pictures and statements. Empathetic, touching, outrageous. A terrific documentary.
