This is the story of the Tibetan woman, Soname Yangchen. At six years old, she is enslaved in Lhasa. At 16 she flees over the Himalayas from Tibet to India. In Indian exile she becomes pregnant and is forced to give up her child. The young mother herself lands on the streets of Delhi. A few years later, Soname Yangchen stands on the stage at the Royal Opera House in London – as a celebrated singer. Today, she lives with her daughter in London.
