Ahmad is an Iraqi asylum seeker with an uncertain residency status. The bureaucracy has sent him to the Westerwald, close to a sleepy village. As Ahmad becomes acquainted with the pub owner Katja, he charms her with his passion for the American line dancing. With their enthusiasm for dancing, the two of them trigger off a genuine chain reaction in the village. But not everyone wants to accept that an asylum-seeker of all people, can bring new impulses to the village. The toleration of Ahmad is easily threatened.
