The banking metropolis of Frankfurt attracts people from across the world. Yet those wishing to stay must be able to speak German and integrate into German society – that, at least is the declared objective of Germany’s new immigration legislation. A diverse mixture of pupils from 15 nations are assembled together as part of a teachers’ cooperative project. Whilst some are still learning how to write, others have already obtained college degrees. This film tells of their endeavours in tackling German and German society itself.
